IO模块用的Expander芯片是哪家的哪个型号？是12G(SAS-3)还是24G(SAS-4)？下行PHY数量多少？是否支持双域(dual-domain)与多路径？两个IO模块能否同时访问同一块盘？
Which expander chip (vendor and exact part number) is in the IO module? 12G (SAS-3) or 24G (SAS-4)? How many downstream PHYs? Dual-domain and multipath supported — can both IO modules reach the same drive simultaneously?
Expander generation caps the whole shelf's bandwidth and the part number is checkable. Note that Toploong's published JBOD line is 12G throughout — treat any 24G claim from a Shenzhen chassis house as needing the chip number.

PSU wattage each, and is it 1+1 or N+1 redundant? Efficiency rating (80 Plus Platinum/Titanium)? AC input range and inlet type — C13 or C19? What is the measured full-load power and the spin-up inrush current with all bays populated?
Spin-up inrush on 60-102 HDDs is what actually trips rack PDUs. Nobody volunteers this number and it changes the PDU line item.

Is SES-3 supported? Under Linux, can sg_ses read temperatures, fan speeds and slot status? How is IO-module firmware updated — in-band or out-of-band? Are firmware images and tools supplied? Which domestic OSes are supported (Kylin, UOS, openEuler)?
An enclosure whose firmware can only be updated by the factory becomes unsupportable the moment the factory loses interest. Ask before the PO, not after.

Fan count and redundancy? Airflow direction (front-to-back)? Maximum operating ambient in degrees C? With all bays populated at full load, what is the measured temperature of the hottest slot? Send the thermal test report.
Top-load 60-102 bay shelves have real hot spots in the centre rows. A vendor who has never measured this has never deployed one at scale.

Empty weight and fully-populated weight in kg? Supplied rail adjustable length range in mm and rated load in kg? Does it support serviceability while extended on the rails? What is the minimum rack depth required?
The report flags that a loaded 60-bay exceeds generic rail ratings but supplies no field to capture it. A rail failure under a 100kg shelf is a safety incident, not a returns issue.

Category-specific, from research rather than generic advice
- REFURBISHED DRIVES WITH RESET SMART. The 2025 Seagate scandal saw drives with tens of thousands of hours sold as new after SMART counters were zeroed. RFQ defence: demand `smartctl -l farm` output (smartmontools 7.4+) on 3 random units — Seagate FARM (Field Accessible Reliability Metrics) records Power-on Hours and Head Flight Hours independently and is not resettable by the tools fraudsters use. A FARM/SMART mismatch is proof, not suspicion.
- THE POWER-CYCLE TELL. Even without FARM, a reset drive gives itself away: 2 power-on hours against 2,400 power cycles is impossible for a genuinely new drive. Always ask for power-on hours AND power cycle count AND Percentage Used together — resetters usually zero one field and forget the others.
- COUNTERFEIT CAPACITY. SSD firmware is modified to report far more capacity than the physical NAND holds; the drive writes normally until it wraps and silently corrupts. RFQ defence: require a full-span write-then-verify test (h2testw or `badblocks -w`) on a sample, plus the flash-ID readout showing die count and per-die capacity.
- DRAM-LESS CONTROLLERS SOLD AS ENTERPRISE. Especially in M.2 2280 and cheap U.2. RFQ defence: ask for onboard DRAM size in GB (expect roughly 1GB per 1TB NAND), reject HMB, and demand high-resolution photos of both PCB faces — a DRAM package is visible or it is not there.
- FIRMWARE-ONLY 'PLP'. Sellers claim power loss protection with no capacitors. RFQ defence: ask for capacitor type and count and have them pointed out in the board photo; ask for JESD218 power-cycling test results. Real hardware PLP is physically countable.
- M.2 2280 'WITH PLP'. 80mm boards rarely have room for a real capacitor bank; 22110 exists precisely because 110mm does. A 2280 PLP claim needs a board photo before it is believed.
- THE NEARLINE HDD 'MANUFACTURER'. No PRC company manufactures hard disk drives. Only Seagate, Western Digital and Toshiba do. Any Chinese seller describing itself as the factory for 20-32TB nearline drives is a trader, relabeller or refurbisher. RFQ defence: ask for the OEM part number and an authorisation letter or upstream purchase invoice, and state in the question that you know no PRC manufacturer exists.
